Consumerist says Ride a Bike

Wrong way sidewalk cyclist in Palo Alto

College students pay out the wazoo for parking permits on top of the usual costs of car ownership and operations. Consumerist suggests:

Sell that car grandma gave you before you get to school, or else you’ll be stuck paying repair costs, insurance, gas and parking. Need to drive to visit home on the holidays and weekends? Sign up for ride shares on campus and carpool with students going to the same town. Owning a bike to get you around campus is a much cheaper option than pouring money into a car.

Consumerist: College Students Are Wasting Money All Over The Place.
