University of Connecticut men’s basketball coach Jim Calhoun, age 70, fractured his hip after he fell from his bicycle during a ride near his home Saturday morning. He was in surgery late into Saturday night to repair the fracture.
Calhoun broke several ribs when he fell during a charity ride in 2009. The coach for the UConn Huskies basketball team was recently recovered from spinal surgery.
