Bloomberg: “Stay in the bike lane!”

Bloomberg takes a cab to his State of the City address and has the driver honk at cyclists before telling them to stay in the bike lane.

The cyclists are none other than Deputy Mayor Howard Wolfson and Transportation Commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan.

His attempt at relevance by playing Lady Gaga, the Ed Koch cameo and the screaming tween sycophants is a little bizarre too.

At his State of the City address, the New York City’s mayor says he’ll continue pushing bicycle facilities in the city. Bike share is a priority for his administration, along with more traffic enforcement and more 20 MPH speed zones.

At least they are trying. They probably just need some better advice and help.

I took it as good natured ribbing from the mayor to his vice mayor, to be honest.

I’m sure that this makes perfect sense to someone. What was this produced for? Intro to a┬áspeech?

I think it’s pretty sweet really, it’s a little contrived but done with a sense of fun I think.
