Pop up camper bike trailer

Bring this to your next S24O: The “Midget Bushtrekka” from Kamp-Rite is a bike trailer that contains a pop-up camper.

This bike trailer…

Bike + camper trailer

…pops up into a 90″L x 32″W x 40″H tent! That’s enough room for the single touring cyclist and mighty snug spooning for couples. (A typical one-man backpacking tent is about 40 inches wide; two man tents run around 54 inches wide.)

Storage space underneath the sleeping platform means bears and criminals need to dig through you to get to your valuable food and other belongings.

Leveling jacks allow setup on uneven terrain. $900 for this 45 lb trailer from Kamp-Rite, or buy it through Amazon.com (with free shipping available through Amazon Prime, but be sure to read the user reviews).

I guess it’s convenient for ease of setup, but it looks huge and heavy, and the cargo capacity doesn’t look fantastic… I’d rather get a BOB Ibex trailer and bring a tent.

You’ll need to contact the vendor or find one in your country. I only blog about this stuff — I don’t sell it. Good luck!

    Ha ha :-)

Just be sure to read the reviews at Amazon before you buy — workmanship seems to be an issue.

I’m not so sure that’s a good thing.
