The Annual Santa Cruz Mountain Bike Festival takes place this Saturday and Sunday, April 11-12, 2015, at San Lorenzo Park near downtown Santa Cruz, CA.
This popular event has bike demos, skills clinics, a vendor fair, food and beverages, live music, a jump bag, and an expanded kids’ area. Demos are available from Breezer, Cannondale, Ibis, Pivot, Santa Cruz Bicycles, Scott, Trek, SRAM and Light & Motion.
San Lorenzo Park is the green space on the east bank of the San Lorenzo River behind the County buildings and Hotel Paradox between Water Street and Soquel Avenue. Free valet bike parking will be provided by Bike Santa Cruz County (nee People Power Santa Cruz). You can park at the County Courthouse parking lot for ten bucks, pay one to five dollars (depending on how long you stay) at any of the paid parking garages and lots around downtown, try to snag one of the few free parking spots (good luck with that), or ride the bus for $2 if you don’t feel like biking or driving in. The River/Front Street parking garage and the Soquel/Front garage are both close in to the venue; rates there are $1 for the first hour, maxing out to $5 if you’re there all day. Disabled parking is available at the Courthouse parking lot.
