Seven horseback riders are traveling from Sonoma, California to the Mexican border for the California Mission Ride occurring right now.
The equestrians plan to visit 22 historic missions in California. They visited the Santa Clara Mission located at Santa Clara University yesterday. They’ll be at Mission San Jose
at Alum Rock in Fremont this afternoon. From there, the riders horse it up and over the Santa Cruz Mountains for arrival at the Santa Cruz Mission (with a bike escort!) on Saturday, September 1. Once at the mission, a celebration is planned including local bands, food from Freewheelin’ Farms and Salchichero, and Ohlone storytelling around the campfire.
Check the Mission Ride calendar for more opportunities to meet this group on the trail.
