How can you avoid dangerous spills from catching the streetcar tracks with your bike?
You ride in the track on purpose. And to do that, you need training wheels.
I think Grist exaggerates the dangers of this silly move a little since streetcars generally move at less than bike speed.
It looks like a goofy fun experiment, and I’m sure these riders have figured out it’s a little bit limiting. What happens when you want to pass the train? And what’s to keep you from riding between the tracks anyway?

You could always try riding with tires that are larger than 23c…
I rode on tracks with 2.6″ tires just to prove the point. Caught the track, fell, skinned my knees.
