81 year old actor Gene Hackman was hit from behind by a car pickup truck as he rode his bicycle on Islamorada in the Florida Keys this afternoon. He’s been released from the hospital.

No charges have been filed against the driver of the pickup truck who hit Hackman, according to the Miami Herald.

Ron Paul rides a bicycle

The 76-year-old Texas Congressman challenges those who think he’s too old with “let’s go for a bike ride.”

While Ron Paul doesn’t believe in funding public transportation or even bike projects at the Federal level, he is honest enough to acknowledge that the reason rail and other public transit even needs subsidies to survive is because of huge Federal subsidies to roads and highways.
