I remember when they brought their production facility to Interbike – you could go up to the booth, pick your size (this is when they had just S/M/L) and colors, and they would sew it for you right there.
Actually, I think Chrome is pretty explicit about their products NOT being made in the US. Their factory is in Guangzhou, China, and this is mentioned in the specs of every product I’ve looked at on their site.
I am looking at my Chrome Metropolis bag right now, and it has a “Made in USA” tag sewn inside.
Chrome’s shoes are made in China; the bags are made in the USA. The higher end apparel (pants, hoodies) are made in USA, t-shirts are from overseas.
Chrome did custom orders this year @ Interbike. They also had a tattoo artist at their booth giving real tattoos.
