Team Type 1 abandon due to bike theft

Team Type 1 – Sanofi Aventis were forced to withdraw from this weekend’s final stage of Coppi E Bartali after thieves broke into their team truck in a bold, overnight theft and made off with their bikes, equipment, tools and other gear.

Rainy Friday

Happy Friday, everybody. California roads, highways and rail service closed in the wake of flooding and slides from the incessant rain, but I’m still able to ride my bicycle in the rain! (I’m just happy Highway 17 hasn’t washed out and that Caltrain is running on time).

Another Big Sur Landslide

More rain = another substantial Highway 1 landslide down in Big Sur. This one has closed Highway 1 near Limekiln Creek about 30 miles south of the Bixby Bridge / Rocky Creek road closure.

Making it up as they go along

New York City’s Central Park has a 25 MPH speed limit. Except it’s 15 MPH for bicycles. Except not anymore.
