Streets are empty of traffic because of a travel ban due to heavy snow in Boston, MA, and public transportation has been shut down. New York City officials specifically called out food delivery bicycles as “non-essential” in their travel ban announcement, but I don’t know if Boston’s travel ban includes bikes or not.

You might remember the Mayor of Rome, Italy, Dr. Ignazio Marino (formerly of Philadelphia), is an avid bike commuter. His daily bike commute apparently creates headaches for his chief of security, Giuseppe Pecoraro, who urges the mayor to ride in a car with police protection.

‘Tis the season to pass along trinkets at your various Holiday gatherings. I like to bring gifts purchased from local Santa Cruz businesses that I hope come across as a little bit unique. This might be a pound of coffee from Santa Cruz Roasting, or a satchel of lavender and patchouli scented hippy soap from the Homeless Garden Project shop, which is located behind the Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History.
