Women’s cycling jeans?

Everyday urban cycling jeans and similar pants that can be worn on and off the bike are available for men in dozens of styles from dozens of vendors large and small. The only apparel designed for women, though, tend to be overly casual or sporty apparel like skorts, shorts and cycling.knickers.

Does a market for women’s cycling jeans exist? Designer and bike commuter Victoria Brewer is testing that through this Betabrand project for women’s gray bike-to-work jeans.

Boulder Bike Blenders

Boulder Bike Blenders provides the bike, the blender and the ingredients so you can use their bikes to blend a smoothie. They had plenty of business from patrons at the farmers’ market in Longmont, Colorado when I saw them last Saturday.

Bikes and advertising

Do you remember that casting call for a cyclist in San Francisco last month?

That Droid Razr advertisement began airing nationally last weekend. (Update: video marked private, but found a publicly available version directly from Verizon’s YouTube channel. You may remember this also happened in real life and was posted to Strava for Valentine’s Day 2012.)

Another fun new TV ad shows a kid powered by Quaker Oats living the adventurous life on his bicycle.

A few months ago, Del Monte showed a young couple smiling as they rode their bikes after (presumably) eating Blue Lake green beans.

Clarence of Streetfilms scooped me on this, and includes another ad I hadn’t seen involving a “Red Widow” riding her bike. H/T to CD 34 who pointed me to the Verizon ad last Saturday.
